Happy Australia Day. For all those who celebrated with us on the 24th at the Australia Day Ball at Conrad Tokyo - thank you for coming along and we hope you had a great time. We are still recovering here:)
Our ball was really a fantastic night and it was all thanks to our team here at the AST, our very generous sponsors, and the wonderful members and friends of the AST who attended the event. We would like to thank our very talented performers: the American School in Japan Vocal Jazz Band, Sarah Alainn, Masaki Sunagawa, and of course Brad Holmes and the Hitmen. We were also very privileged to have Eddie Jones, head coach of the Japan national rugby team along as our special guest. Thanks to the sponsors who donated goods on the night, we were able to raise a lot of money for our charities, Heart Tokushima and Tokyo English Life Line. We've already invited ourselves around to the homes of the lucky winners of the 4kg of Riverina Angus Porterhouse and Yalumba wine for a bbq, and Ms. Oshima, if you haven't got anyone to accompany you to Australia on your business-class flight with Qantas, we have some volunteers here!
The next AST Coffee Morning will be held on February 17th at Oakwood Aoyama. Our host Matthew is a long-term Tokyoite so for those of you who are new to Tokyo, please drop by for a coffee and chat. It's a fun morning and there are always some interesting members there.
